Construction Manager of the Year Awards Sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Building, this annual event is designed to promote and reward the efforts of individuals at site level. Cowlin Construction has been successful at both regional and national level in recent years. A notable performance at national level was the Silver Award presented in 2006 to David Lloyd in the category New Build/Refurbishment on projects up to £5m, for his work on Rhydefelin High School. The company also had two finalists in the 2007 Awards in the New Build/Refurbishment on projects up to £10m - Steve Salmon for the Children's Hospice South West Development and Ian Packer for Student Accommodation, Maindy Road, Cardiff. West of England Business of the Year The West of England Business of the Year Awards aim to reward business achievement, assessed across a number of criteria including financial performance, business management, training and contribution to the region. Cowlin Construction have been finalists in both 2006 and 2007 in the category for companies with a turnover in excess of £15m. "Building" Awards Sponsored by "Building" magazine, this prestigious annual event celebrates success across the whole industry, with entrants being scrutinised by some of the industry's leading figures. Cowlin Construction was a finalist in the category of Contractor of the Year in 2007, with the judges commenting on how successful Cowlin had been in managing its growth in a controlled and profitable manner. Project Accolades The Company prides itself on the quality and prestige of the projects it undertakes, which is reflected by the numerous awards that have been received. Recent awards include: • Local Authority Building Control Awards for Llandough Hospital, Crewkerne Sports Hall, Children's Hospice South West, Bristol. • Civic Trust Awards for Newlyn Gallery, Children's Hospice South West. • RIBA Wessex Town & Country Design Award and the Arnold Sayers Award for Housing Design for Harbour Avenue, Plymouth. |
