Cowlin Construction maintains an Environmental Management System with full regard to all requisite environmental considerations and which is accredited to ISO 14001. Cowlin has identified the main business environmental aspects as: • Waste Management • Water Management • Energy Usage • Pollution Control • Flora/Fauna • Impact on Neighbours (dust, noise, vibration) Performance figures and progress on environmental targets are available on request. Our commitment to environmental issues is demonstrated by the appointment of a Group Environmental Manager, supported by Environmental and Sustainability Co-ordinators within each Division. Cowlin also subscribes to WRAP - Waste & Resources Action Programme - to assess the amount of recycled material in a product or packaging. This includes pre-consumer material and post-consumer material. For each project we produce a component recycled content schedule to monitor the recycled content by mass and value per component for a product. This then calculates the percentage total and cost of the material content value of the building coming from environmental/sustainable sources. Typically from our experience, clients look to achieve 10%. |
