Project: Melksham Oak Community School
Client: Wiltshire County Council Value: £22.6m Contract: NEC Option A Duration: 100 Weeks
This current project encompasses the design and construction of a new two-storey secondary school for 1350 pupils, including a 200 place sixth form, on a green field site on the outskirts of Melksham.
The school will be organised into a series of “teaching villages”, with the intention being that teaching spaces will only be artificially ventilated and lit where natural ventilation and daylighting is not practical. The building is to achieve a BREEAM rating of “Very Good”. The buildings are a mixture of brickwork, RC frame, timber cladding, insulated render, metal decking, exposed and decorated concrete, metal standing seam roofing, along with associated landscaping and natural and artificial sports pitches. |
