The new academy school comprised the provision of a state-of-the-art education facility and demolition of the existing Withywood Community School, to be provided for a joint venture Client featuring the Department for Education and Skills and the Society of Merchants Venturers (a local charitable organisation).

The academy will specialise in enterprise and skills and is constructed in 7 pavilions around a courtyard, with new adjacent sports pitches. All weather sports facilities will replace the existing school, once the pupils occupy the new academy.
