Project: Tenby Cottage Hospital
Client: Pembrokeshire & Derwent NHS Trust Value: £2.2m Contract: JCT 1998 WCD Duration: 40 weeks
The new Cottage Hospital in Tenby is a two-storey, steel frame building with masonry infill panels. The roof is aluminium and external walls are a combination of coloured render and Cedar cladding.
The hospital has X-ray, dental and emergency departments, together with all of the associated mechanical and electrical services. The internal finishes are high quality to cope with the demands of a busy hospital. The new hospital is built on the side of a redundant gas works, which meant that substantial preparatory work, including a large retaining wall, had to be completed before construction could commence. The area was also fully landscaped and a new car park was formed as part of the contract |
