Project: Withywood Community Centre, Bristol
Client: South Bristol Church & Community Trust Value: £3.56m Contract: JCT 1998 Duration: 60 weeks
The project comprised the construction of a new community and neighbourhood resource for the people of Withywood, Hartcliffe and surrounding areas. Located on Queen’s Road, the main road through Withywood, this new facility has created a focal point for the community and plays a key role in helping to regenerate this area of South Bristol.
The centre provides two separate halls, both with state of the art audio visual sound systems, which can be combined to form one large hall capable of seating 120 people; a health clinic; a church; a crèche; two cafes and two meeting rooms. The new facility was delivered through an innovative partnership of the Anglican and Methodist Churches, Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures, Bristol City Council, Bristol Primary Care Trust and the Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership. |
