The project involved the construction of 351 no. en-suite student bedrooms comprising standard, single, double, disabled and adaptable bedrooms, in clusters, with communal kitchens.

The accommodation is housed in two adjoining blocks, one of 11 storeys and one of 6 storeys. The blocks were constructed with a reinforced concrete floor slab construction with precast concrete cladding and combination windows.

This contract represents the second phase of student accommodation Cowlin have designed and constructed for Gwalia on the Singleton Park campus at Swansea University; the previous contract was for 272 no. bedrooms and was completed in September 2004.
